Bunny Mania!

I am absolutely in love  with  the little bunny from Polka Dot Parade. As soon as my package arrived I used my die to cut out 10 of him. I had so much fun stamping him with all the different colors of PTI inks.
Since I had been working on an Easter banner, I thought I would make a small garland strand of bunnies.

Here are some close-up shots.

This was such a quick project too.  I just love the little tails. Adhering them with glue dots worked perfectly!

This will be perfect for my gramddaughters to hang in their bedrooms. I guess I need to make another one since I have two granddaughters.

MIM # 105 Glitter Trim

Next month, I am going to be holding a card making session for some teachers I used to work with. I have been asked to focus on babies and weddings.
I've had this idea for a wedding card formulating in my head for a couple of days.  The  MIM video was the impetus I needed to bring the idea to fruition.

I chose to cut the border and flower center with 2" wide Score Tape instead of running the die through my Xyron. It is so much easier to work with glitter using this method. There is a layer of vellum which barely shows up in the picture. I find photgraphing cards with glitter to be a little daunting as the shine creates some glare.

PTI Blog HOP February 2013

Today is Pti's monthly Blog Hop.

Create something monogrammed!

I wasn't too psyched about this month's challege. Monograms are not my style. I think they are perfect for a set of thank you cards, but I wasn't in the mood or more importantly in the need to create something like this.
Before you know it, Easter will be here. I thought I would create something with this theme. I loved the basket die released this month, but couldn't justify the price tag, especially since I own the berry basket die which I do not use enough as it is.  My project is a stretch for the topic of monograms as I only used the my granddaughters' intial for each basket.
Of course, purple was the color of choice. Olivia picked Plum Pudding with Lavender Moon accents and Lilly picked Lavender Moon with Winter Wisteria accents.

I just love the little bunny die from Polka Dot Parade. He's just tooo cute. I wanted to add some googly eyes, but the ones I had were a tad too big. I need to make a trip to Michaels to get a smaller size.

I used a lot of PTI dies with this basket: Half & Half, Easter Egg. ric rac, bunny and berry basket die. I used a scallop punch to make the handle and added ribbon with a button. the initials were made with one of my Sizziz dies. The egg is actualyy Spring Moss, but has taken on a yellowish hue in this photo.

This one is Lilly's basket.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just a quick post of the Valentines I made for my granddaughters. I saw these little Hershey kiss mice in a magazine and thought I would give it a try.

They were pretty quick to make; less than 10 minutes per mouse. Here's a side profile to get a better look on how they were made.
This is the card.  I  punched holes in the Card Base-ic # 1 to resemble cheese the mouse has already nibbled on. I couldn't resist using the new Limitless Layers Heart Dies.
.

The sentiment is computer generated. Of course, the first things the girls wanted to know when I hand delivered their Valentines today was if they could eat the mice. Of course I had other goodies for them too. They are probably so sugared out, getting them to bed tonight will be difficult. But isn't that what being a grandparent is all about?
Hope your Valentine Day was special. Mine surely was.

PTI Anniversary Color Challenge

Today's challenge for PTI's anniversary is to create a project using one of the 6 color schemes Nichole has put together.  My eye was immediately drawn to Color Inspiration #3.

Color-inspiration-3
Immediately I thought what wonderful colors for an Easter card. (Yes, Easter is early this year; March 31st)

I decided to use the stamp set released last year: Scrambled Eggs.

The bunny face (CE)  is one of my favorites that I continue to use every year. (That was a good $6 investment.)
Here's a close up of the largest die cut from Mat Stack #6;

Thanks for stopping by. I need to get back to making my granddaughters' valentines.

Design Team Inspiration Take 2

The Design Team Favorites Inspiration. Challenge in honor of PTI's 6th anniversary continues.
This time I was inspired by Danielle Flanders to make 2 cards.. I just loved the card in the top right corner.

Danielle

Since I didn't have the XO border, I chose to use my Sizzix letters.

Here's a close up shot of the 2 hearts I added.

The 2nd card I made was inspired by the middle card on the right. I fiddled with several ideas before I settled on this.

I still have to make my granddaughters' Valentine cards. I have an idea; just need to find time to execute it.

PTI Sketch Challenge

Today was one of my favorite challenges during PTI's anniversary celebration. Nichole designed 5 sketches from which to make a project.  Although I loved them all, I only had time to make 2 cards.  I know I will be using the other sketches in the near future.

Once again my cards have a Valentine theme.
The first card is based upon sketch # 3.

Sketch-3
This proved to be more difficut than I thought. Lining up the little slips of paper took quite awhile. However, this is a great sketch to use up those scraps of paper.

The white hearts are from the Heart Border die. The tiny red hearts are from Tiny Tags.

The 2nd sketch I chose was #2.

I always love to use the Fabulous Frame die whenever I can. I love how this card turned out. I think it is the color combination.

Here's a close up shot of the felt hearts.
I stamped the frame with Versamark. You can barely see it in the photo.

PTI Design Team Inspiration

In celebration of PTI's 6th anniversary, the design team show cased six of their favorite cards. The challenge is to select a card for inspiration to  create your own.
Since Valentine's Day is Thursday, I thought it best that this should be the theme of my card. I used the butterfly card (lower left corner) from Christina for my inspiration.

Cristina

I used the Flourishes Stamp Sset and two different die from the the Heart to Heart series.

The sentiment is from With All My Heart.

I think I am going to use this card for my anniversary which is a week after Valentine's Day.
 Thanks for taking a peek.

It's a Wrap Challenge

After being away from my craft room for 2 weeks, I think I have finally gotten my act together to participate (in time) for one of PTI"s anniversary challenges. Today's challenge is to create some type of wrap, tag or gift packaging  inspired by a photo found on Pinterest or another site. I was inspired by some birthday wrapping paper I had in my closet.

Here's my tag. Of course the lighting is poor since I took the photo after daylight.

I am really excited about the variety of gift bags PTI will be selling.
