Yankee Birthday Card: 2014

My brother-in-law is an avid Yankee fan. Every year I try to make him a special birthday card. Here is the one I made him this year.
I just love the diagonal coverplate. Makes card making so fast. Since I heat embossed the glove with clear embossing powder, I am submitting this for PTI's Blog Hop where the theme is high gloss. I originally put some glossy accents on the ball that is in the glove, but the red ink ran, so I replaced it with a non glossy ball. Here's the sentiment for my inside in which I did a lot of selective inking.

Looking for some inspiration for other baseball theme birthday cards, check out the ones I made in previous years:  Greatest Fan,  Play Ball

PTI Blog Hop: March

The best day of the month: Pti's Blog Hop. The theme this month is high gloss. I needed a birthday card for my niece who has an early April birthday. Pink is her favorite color.

The heart is done with a tinted gel I had. Bought it ages ago. Problem is many of my colors dried up before I got to use them all. I had meant to heat emboss the cupcake but forgot.

A Merry Monday Color Challenge

A short post for a card I was able to quickly make for the 100th challenge at Merry Monday. The inspiration

I chose to focus on the untraditional color combination. I had this stamped tree already in my stash. With the diagonal coverplate, this card came together in minutes.

Festive Friday Snowflake

I really should be working on all the spring projects I have in mind instead of creating Christmas cards. But I couldn't resist the inspiration photo for the current challenge at Festive Friday.

My take:

I used Glimmer Mist on my snowflake to jazz it up a bit. The embossed background is an old Cuttlebug folder I had in my stash. The sentiment is from Peaceful Pointsettia. I decided to add the snowman in the center other than a smaller snowflake. What do you think? Should I keep the snowman or replace it?

Oh Christmas Tree Oh.....

Another Christmas card for the challenge at Merry Monday. When I first saw the theme

I didn't think I would play along. The only image that came to mind was pine cones of which I don't have. Then I browsed through my stash of Christmas stamps and realized the tree from PTI's Polka Dot Parade would work nicely.  Thus my card:

I used an ombre effect on the tree. The sentiment is embossed in gold. The ric rac was dyed using Chocolate Brown ink.

Sweet Baby Girl

A quick post of a card I made for the birth of my neighbor's newest granddaughter. I have been trying to use pattern papers on my cards lately. I have so much of it and never seem to use any. The image is from an old red rubber stamp from Art Gone Wild.

I paper pieced the little sleeper & onsie and used copics on the bib & socks.  A little ric rack is used for the border on the bottom.

I'm the Gingerbread Man

Thanks to the Christmas challenges out there, I have 20% of my Christmas cards made for 2014, and we are only about 1/6 of the way through the year. If I continue, I might not be making my cards at the last minute like I did last year.

My card was inspired by this sketch

from the current challenge at Seize the Sketch.

The large pink panel was embossed with the Canvas/Linen Impression plate from PTI.  You can see it a wee bit in this photo if you look real closely .

I am submitting this card to the current challenge at Festive Friday which is based upon this photo.

A 65th Birthday

I've been working on this card for a couple of days. Finally got it to turn out pretty much the way I imagined. My sister celebrates her 65th birthday early next week so I need to get it in the mail asap.

After I completed the card, I started watching this week's MIM video. The topic was creating a one layer card by adding texture. I realized this card fit the bill. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Merry Monday # 97

Squeezing in at the last minute a submission to the current challenge at Merry Monday.
The goal is to make a Christmas card using aqua, white & silver.  Here's the inspiration photo.

Here's my take. I just used a touch of silver. The holly leaves were cut using the silver shimmer cardstock from PTI. I used Copics to color the rhinestones and dyed the silk ribbon with Aqua Mist ink.
