PTI Blog Hop: July

Stamp-A- Faire, then PTI's Blog Hop. What more can a crafting girl want? Definitely my favorite time of the year. This month's blog hop is based upon an inspirational photo:

I immediately knew I would use the rose image from my new stamp set, The Sweet Life. After experimenting with a few different color combinations for the rose, this is what I chose.

The base is Summer Sunrise followed by Melon Berry and topped with Berry Sorbet.

I kept the card clean & simple. I added some texture in the background using the Striped IP.

Thanks for stopping by. Looking forward to everyone's entries.

PTI Blog Hop June

I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Mine was great. My husband & I went with another couple to a winery for lunch on Saturday. It was so relaxing sitting on their patio sipping wine.
Today is also going to be a great day since it is PTI's monthly Blog Hop. This month the challenge was to create a card inspired by this picture:

I focused on the colors and the ruffle to create my card.

I used Harvest Gold and New Leaf inks. I am thrilled to finally have all the PTI inks that match the cardstock.  To make the ruffle, I basted two strips of Harvest Gold grosgrain ribbons together. I used embroidery floss to create the green strip down the middle. Initially, I used my Zig glue pen, but ended up stitching it in place.Iused the Linen IP to give some texture to the background, but it didn't show up in the photo. The sentiment was stamped first in Harvest Gold with New Leaf on top to create a shadow effect.

Since I messed up with the alignment of the flowers on my first attempt, I used the panel to make a CAS card.
Thanks for taking a peek. I am eagerly looking forward to see everyone's ideas.

Thanks

Happy Friday! I can't believe that I have posted several times this week. Now that my son's wedding is over and school is out, I have time each day to create a little something. Today's card is pretty simple. It is a thank you that I gave to my sweet neighbor for the PTI gcs she gave me.

I love this Pretty Peonies stamp set. It is my favorite, I have to keep telling myself that I need to use some of the other stamp sets I have. Thanks for looking. I hope you have a great weekend and find some time to create something beautiful.

A CAS Birthday Card

The past few weeks I have been making more CAS cards.  This has never been my style as I love to add lots of embellishments to my cards: ribbon, buttons, bling.  However, I think the peony in the new anniversary stamp set is so beautiful, it should be the focal point. Thus this card.

I stamped the sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes in Scarlet Jewel..The butterfly was punched from a Martha Stewart punch.

The peonies are stamped with Autumn Rose and outlined with Scarlet Jewel.

This card was sent to my sister.  Usually she receives my cards with all the embellishments.  I thought it was time I exposed her to the beauty of a CAS card.  Yesterday's card  White Peonies was sent to my sister-in-law. I hope both my sister and sister-in-law have a Happy Birthday. I wish I could celebrate their birthdays with them but because we live in 3 different states, the cards will have to suffice.
Thanks for stopping by.

White Peonies

March is a big birthday month. I have 4 cards that I need to make for family/friends. Since I need to make a card for both my sister and sister-in-law, I decided I would use the new Peony stamp set.  Inspired by so many white peonies on Pinterest, I used Fresh Snow on Royal Velvet to make this card.

Making a background with this stamp is so easy.  Since there is no die to accompany the stamp set, I fussy cut the frame. (WAPITA)
PTI dies have definitely spoiled me. I remember the days when I fussy cut everything. I used Sweet Blush satin ribbon to match the card base. Isn't the design on that button delightful?
So if you are wondering who got this card, check in tomorrow as I show case the other birthday card I made using this same set. Thanks for stopping by.
