Pti Blog Hop: Bunny Bag

Found some to finally make that cute little bunny bag, but I had to rewatch Nicole' s video first. Super easy to make. There's still time to submit it to this month's blog hop at Papertrey Ink where the challenge is to create a spring project.

I used the basket die from Scrambled eggs and filled it with the eggs from Hippity Hoppity.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

A different Easter Card

Spring is the theme this month at PTI's Blog Hop.  What holiday comes to mind is Easter; a time for beautiful flowers, blooming trees and pastel colors. I made Easter cards for my grandaughters using the lunch box note die. I bought this die months ago. I decided it was about time I used it.
Here's the inside.

They really liked it when I attached candfy to their Valentine card. So I decided to do it for Easter too even though they will get an Easter basket from me.

Here's the outside. Of course, it's purple. Olivia told me she loves it when I put jewels on the cards so I added some to the button.
 One for Lilly.

PTI blog Hop: February 2014

The 25th of each month is one of my favorite days because I look forward to participating in PTI'S Blog Hop. There are so many beautiful submissions, plus I look forward to seeing/commenting on what fellow crafters are creating. The challenge this month is to create a spring theme project. Here is the photo inspiration.

Here's my card..

I used a lot of old products: Sweet Spring, Christmas Label, picket fence die, woodgrain IP and the newly released Hippity Hop stamp set & die.

I used some flocking on the chick's wing. Here's an upclose shot of the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Happy Hopping. Don't forget to comment on everyone's blog too!

39 Years of Blessings!

Today my darling husband & I celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. We have been truly blessed with a good marriage, wonderful children, their awesome spouses and beautiful grandchildren as well as good health. May God continue to bestow his blessings upon our family.
I was so happy my PTI goodies arrived early in the week so I could use some stamps from the newly released Monthly Moments.

Christmas Holly

The challenge this week at Merry Monday is to create a Christmas card with holly on it. I had an idea in my head, but when I went to execute it, the final product didn't appeal to me. I had stamped a holly image using an old, wood mounted, rubber stamp and used my Copics. However, the coloring seemed off compared to the stamped sentiment. I tried to fix it with my colored pencils.  Still no luck. So I experimented with one of the small holly leaves from Holly Jolly and stamped each leaf with Simply Chartreuse. Much better. I managed to salvage the card.

I used the canvase impression plate on the vintage cream cardstock, but it didn't show up in the photo.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Candy Cane Inspiration!

Just a quick post today for the current challenge at Festive Fridays which is to create a project based upon this picture.

I was searching in my box of Christmas card pattern papers looking for a candy cane pattern I bought last season, but was wooed more by this piece of  scarlet stripes I came across.

Inspired by this card from Melissa Phillips, I added the holly spring at the last moment. Guess I can submit it to this weeks challenge at Merry Monday.

Valentine Goodies

Whew! It's been a whirlwind week with all of the challenges in celebration of PTI's 7th anniversary that I forgot to post the Valentine Goodies I made for my granddaughters. First up, the card.

Love the new stitching dies. Topped the heart off with a real sweet treat.

Saw these arrows on Pinterest. Olivia loves Pixie sticks. Lilly doesn't, but took them anyway.

I used the Banner Builder and Square Print dies.

When I saw these Valentine Hearts inspired byErin Lincoln, I knew I would make them.

Made these for everyone in the family. I stuffed mine with 10 m&m' s. Lilly had hers opened within a minute.
Sorry for the blurry photo.

Day 10 PTI Anniversary challenge

It's Day 10 of PTI's anniversary challenge and I'm here to play along again.Today we are to include a coordinating envelope with our card. Since I haven't made a Christmas card in almost two weeks, I thought I would combine it with this week's challenge at  Merry Monday.

Here's my little teddy bear peeking from some evergreens. The image is from an old, red, rubber stamp by Judikins.

Here's a close up shot of the card. The little fellow is propped up with some foam dots after I fussy cut him.

PTI Building Block Challenge

Pti's anniversay challenges are still going strong. I have been able to participate in quite a few this week. Today is the Day 9 challenge which is to create a card  based on the nine design *building blocks* you collect from each of the design team members by rolling a dice. the numbers I rolled were 1 (Pure Poppy), 4, (Sweet Blush) 5 (Spring Moss) 1 (Vintage Cream) 2, (Birthday)
4, (Inlay) 4 (Pearls) 1 (Ribbon) sketch # 2

I honestly found this to be very challenging.  Overall, I thought the choices I had were decent.

I used the flower cluster from Sweet Life.  I never did add the ribbon as I just couldn't make it work.  Here's a close up shot of the happy sentiment.

PTI Anniversary Day 6

Just a quick post of a card I made for today's PTI Anniversary  challenge which is make a card using a large word as a focal point.

I wanted a masculine birthday card so that is why I chose these colors. Here's an up close shot of the happy banner.

Happy Birthday PTI!

The festivities continue for PTI's 7th year in business.  The challenge today is to create a birthday and submit a picture of the card and one of you holding the card for a double entry.
Here's my card.

Holding my card.

Now all I have to do is pop it in the mail to the wonderful staff at the PTI warehouse in Cincinnati. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

PTI's Timed Challenge

The card I am posting is one made for day 3 of PTI's anniversary challenges. It is PTI's Timer Challenge.
The goal is to gather all the supplies you need in 7 minutes and complete the card in 17 minutes or less. Let me tell you; this is a big challenge for me. I don't think I ever made a card in 17 minutes (okay 24 minutes if you include the time for gathering supplies) I am a 45 + minutes gal! It takes me forever to think of a layout and color combination.
Well, I had been eyeing one of the sketches Nichole had in her first challenge. So I decided I would use that.

Sketch-1

Here are the supplies I gathered in 7 minutes. Wasn't sure if it would be a birthday card or thank you so I gathered a lot of stamp sets for the sentiments.

Here is my completed card. (Sorry about the poor photo quality. It is night here and with the touch of glitter, the glare ruined the photos that were taken at a different angle.

I stamped Fancy Flourishes in Aqua Mist on the card base and applied Prima Glitter on the Fancy Flourished stamped on the panel which I propped up with foam dots. I had 18 seconds to spare, but mind you, while making the card, I didn't clean off my stamps, or cover my ink pads or even pour the glitter back into the vial the way I normally do. This was a fun challenge. Maybe I'll try it again another time.  Thank you for taking a peek.

Retrosketches: 100th Sketch

Just a quick post.
Today I'm posting a card (of course in the last hours ) for the 100th sketch for Retrosketches.

 Here's my take.

Because I used a freebie digi stamp from PTI, I was going to submit this for the 2nd day anniversary challenge, but missed the deadline. Here's a close up of the free image.

PTI's 7th Anniversary Day 1

Pti is celebrating it's 7th anniversary this month. I have been purchasing their products since 2010.  Each year they celebrate with tons of challenges and contests. The first challenge is based upon several sketches and color combinations from the design team. This is the color combination & sketch I chose.

Color-4

The dahlias were stamped with Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest and topped in Pure Poppy which I stamped off once.

The stockings Were Hung by the Chimmney With Care!

With all the cold and snowy weather of late, it sure does make it easy to create Christmas cards. Once again I am playing along with this week's challenge at Merry Monday.

With all the Christmas stamps filling my drawers and shelves, would you believe I don't have one of a stocking.  I didn't let this minor problem deter me. I found some pattern paper I picked up this past Christmas that had some stockings on it. With a little bit of fussy cutting, and a new layout, this is what I came up with.

I used the woodgrain impression plate brayered with ink to create the little mantel which I propped up with foam dots. The little mouse is an old rubber mounted stamp by Judith that I bought eons ago. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM: Drop Shadow Die Cuts

Betsy Veldman has an awesome PTI video this week showcasing shadow die cuts. I just loved the color combination she used on her card. I too made a birthday card for my brother-in-law who is celebrating a birthday on the 15th of this month. I used two of the same die cuts as Betsy; the happy and banner.

The only die I used pop dots on was the banner.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Be My Valentine

It's been awhile since I participated in a challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays. Needing to make more Valentine cards and having a simple layout in mind, I decided to play along.

I cut my base card to 4"by 5 1/4" so it will fit into the envelope.

I glittered the background heart. It is hard to tell in the picture, but I have two stiched hearts with the top heart curling up slightly. The sentiment is from Cupid's arrow.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown

I found another Christmas Card Challenge called 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown. The challenge this week is based upon this sketch.

Here's my take.

The most challenging part was the three tiny enbellishments on each piece of the pattern paper. I finally settled on the snowflakes. I tried a swig of  holly, ribbon, rhinestones/pearls; but nothing really seemed to work. Here's a blurry close up shot.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. I need to get back on the Valentine track before the holiday passes me by.

A Fancy Christmas Ornament Card

I'm still on a roll creating Christmas cards for 2014. The ornament was inspired by PTI's MIM : Window Screen Cards. The border of the card was stamped with a Versamark snowflake from Snowflake Medley. However, it didn't show up in the photo.

I only have two cover plates: the quatrefoil and twist.  I thought this one looked best. The leaves are from Beautiful Blooms II. I used Pure Poppy ink to die some seam binding for the double bow as I wanted something soft.

The challenge this week at Merry Monday is to create a Christmas card with an ornament. It just so happens that my card works perfectly for the challenge this week at Festive Friday. Here is the inspiration image.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Hop on over to the challenges at Merry Monday and Festive Friday to get inspired to begin your Christmas cards for 2014.
