Penguin Birthday

My great neice had a birthday earlier in the month. She turned 5. Her favorite color is yellow. I thought a spinner with a touch of yellow in the background woud be perfect for her,

The penguin is from a wood mounted stamp I bought year ago and rarely use. Although she live in AZ, I thought the penguin works for a winter birthday.
Here's an up close shot of the stamped image. I used my Copics to color the hat and paper pieced the present.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

Vroom Vroom!

My grand-nephew turns 1 at the end of the month. Although he is too young to appreciate a spinner card, I made one for him any way.  This is the first time I have used the Pure Poppy/Blueberry Sky combination that I have seen so many people use.

An up close shot of the sentiment.

Can you guess what I am getting him for his birthday?  My sister informed me he LOVES trucks.  I think a fire engine will work.  Here's the tag I made to accompany the card & gift.  Since I didn't pick out my wrapping paper yet, I held off on the ribbon for the tag.

Pretty in Pink

My grand niece celebrated her 6th birthday on Monday. Her favorite color is pink as evidenced by her  Raspberry Fizz colored bedroom. Therefore I thought it was fitting to use this color as the background.

This was one of those cards that began with an idea (pink, mat stack, spinner die) but ended up differently than I originally planned. However, it came together pretty quickly. I think the spinner card is perfect for kids.

A close up shot of the cupcake.

I paper pieced the heart & cupcake liner. Used my Copics to create the icing and added some sparkles with my gel pen.
