89 and Counting

Last weekend, I flew to NJ for my uncle's funeral. Although a sad event, there was a silver lining because I got to see some of my cousins whom I haven't seen in 13 years; the last time was at my mother's funeral. There was a lot of reminiscencing about the "good old days".
I also had the opportunity to see some of my mom's friends. One of them was having a birthdday today, so as soon as I got home I made her this card.

Here's a close up shot of the party popper.

The inside:

Since I only mailed it yesterday, she'll probably receive it Saturday or Tuesday.
I am submitting this card to the Addicted to CAS. The cue word is embossed.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

How fun, to get to make an 89th birthday card. I'm sure she will love it. Very cute to have the numbers on the banner inside the poppers. I am going to check out that challenge you mentioned. I've never heard of that one. Sorry about your uncle, though. It is no fun to see relatives only at funerals.
