As much as I love PTI's MIM challenges, I don't participate as much as I would like. This week I decided to join in for the chalkboard technique. As much as I love the look of this technique, I don't think it is one for me since I don't consider myself to be very artistic. I believe this technique does well for those who are.
The holly border looks fine, but there is something lacking with the sentiment. I was afraid to add "more" since I didn't want to interfere with the busyness of the border. Still, I think I should have added some type of simple flourish under the sentiment.
The kraft border is embossed with the woodgrain impression plate, but you can't see it in the photo.
At least I have one Christmas card done for 2013!
Thanks for stopping by.

Carol, you have a head start on all of us for your Christmas cards! Just put all my Christmas stamps away? Your border is adoreable. Frames the sentiment. Love your chalk dust!
This is a great chalkboard card. I was just at a restaurant that had chalkboards up all over, and this would have fit in perfectly. I like the smudginess of the joy.
Love your border Carol! I found smudging hard the first time I tried this technique - it just seemed "wrong", but I must admit I am loving all the linked cards,
Great card. Good for you for starting your Christmas card stash this early.- Irma
Ooh, love this, Carol!
I LIKE it, Carol! I think the chunky sentiment looks sweet on it's own with just the border framing it in. I agree with your fear of getting carried away with the stamping, I felt the same way, but somehow, it just works! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and comment on my card! REALLY appreciate it!
Ooooh I love that holly boarder, it looks fab with this chalkboard technique. :D
I love your holly border, this looks like it should be a picture and you should frame it!
