PTI MIM Challenge: Framing Sentiments

I love this week's  MIM at PTI.  The challenge this week is Framing Sentiments.  I'm on an Easter kick.  I used all old products, nothing from recent releases. I think Bitty Bouquet is a perfect stamp set for Easter.

MIM: Using Vellum to Soften Patterns

Just a quick post for my entry into this week's MIM using vellum to soften patterns. As I look at this card I realize I didn't soften the pattern, but did use the vellum attachment technique Lizze demonstrated.

This is a birthday card for a little 3 year old who just loves trucks and cars. I thought it would be appropriate.

MIM: # 209 White on White Die Cuts

Seems forever since I last posted. It's not that I haven't been making cards; it's taking pictures and up loading them to the computer that stops me from posting.  How lazy of me or should I just say simply 'not motivated'. ( My camera also leaves a black splotch on my pictures. Need to get a new one.)
I loved this week's MIM at PTI. Although I had seen Lexi's cards during releases, it never occurred to me to make this type of card.
Since I am super behind on making my Christmas cards for 2015, I decided I would pull out my Christmas stamps. (actually, I have never put them away. They are always in the corner on my stamp shelf.)
I found a new Christmas Card Challenge that I will  play along .There is an inspiration photo this week,

   My card(s)

I really like how this turned out.  Even though you can only submit one entry for the MIM, I thought I would go ahead and make a 2nd card using this technique since it is so fast.
Since my sentiment was from a red rubber stamp, I didn't notice the dab of ink on the red rubber and ended up getting a splotch.  Any ideas of how to fix this??

MIM: Colorful Card Corner Take 3

I'm back with my 3rd card for this week's challenge at PTI: Colorful Corner Card. I love this design that Danielle Flanders focused on this week in her video. This card is my favorite one of all three.(#1#2) I finally got brave to stamp a bold background and just love the way it turned out.

MIM: Colorful Card Corners: Christmas

I made another card for PTI's MIM Colorful Corner Card. Since I am not burned out making Christmas cards and on a roll for 2015 (I already have 4 made) I used Peaceful Pine Cones to make another Christmas card.  This time I added a small star image in the background.

MIM: Colorful Card Corners

I am very excited about this week's MIM challenge at PTI. Danielle Flanders created several cards where the focal point is in the corner.  This is a different perspective for me.  Since I need another birthday card for this month, I decided to use balloons as my image.

(little natural light today; snowy)

I combined sentiments from Heart to Heart and Star Prints. I love the way the card turned out. I thought about stamping the circle confetti from Birthday Style, but loved the white space on my card, so I left it as is. I would love to make some more cards using this idea. Hopefully, I'll find some time to do so. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM: A la Carte: Confetti

Back with another card for this week's A la Carte MIM Challenge at PTI.  This time I chose the video Make your Own Confetti by Danielle Flanders. I just found out one of my nephews is turning 40. I couldn't miss this opportunity to send him a card. I thought the confetti card was perfect.

I also included the technique "Camouflaging Die Cuts. I think that technique is awesome.  I've tried it before and wanted to do it again. Since I used my Cameo to cut the numbers, I had to estimate placement of numbers. The shading is a bit higher than I would have liked.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM: A La Carte: Diamond Wallpaper Stamping

Now that the holidays are over and I can get back into my routine, I have time to not only make cards, but post them on this neglected blog. I love this week's challenge at PTI's MIM: A la Carte which is to revisit a challenge one did not already participate in. Although I did quite a few in 2014, there were still some I missed.
My husband and brother-in-law both have a birthday in the middle of January.  I thought the
MIM: # 174 Diamond Wallpaper Stamping technique was perfect for a masculine card. I used a stamp from Square Prints to create my diamonds. This is my take.

I used the color combination from this month's Inspiration Archive at PTI.

Jan 15 Color Play

Now I have to decide who is getting this card. My husband or brother-in-law. I guess that depends on how my next masculine card turns out. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM: A la Carte

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Here's wishing everyone a healthy and happy 2015.
I'm back with another card for this week's MIM challenge at PTI which is to participate in a challenge that was missed. This time I picked # 179 which is Emboss Resist Die Cuts. I have only two cover plates and chose the Diagonal to make this card.

At first I wasn't too happy about the way the ombre background (Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Limeade Ice) turned out. However, once I placed the poinsettias on the card, I thought it looked much better, I'm still on a roll with Christmas cards for 2015. This makes my 4th one already.

MIM :2014 A la Carte

The MIM  end of year challenge at PTI is to revisit one of the 50 challenges presented this year and use a technique you hadn't had the opportunity to try. I chose challenge #164:  Cluster Stamped Sentiment. You can click here to view the original video.
Believe it or not, I am still in Christmas mode, so I decided to make another Christmas card for 2015.

I did selective inking on the sentiment from Think Big Favorites # 20. The leaf image is from Peaceful Pine Cones stamped in Spring Moss, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado and Limeade Ice.  I added a touch of Pure Poppy from the berry image in Wreath for all Seasons.

MIM: Stamped Borders

Quick post today showcasing the card I made for this week's challenge at PTI's Make It Monday which is to create a card using partial images to stamp a border.  My card sends warm winter wishes for a speedy recovery to a sick friend.

I just love the way Melissa did the bow on her card so I tried it on mine. I really like this technique and need to remember it since it doesn't add a bump like other ribbons do.  This will be great for mailing.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM: Camouflaging Die Cuts

My great niece has a birthday the first week of January. I usually seem to forget it and end up mailing her a belated birthday card.  When I saw the video for this week's challenge for PTI's MIM, I thought this would be perfect for creating a card for her.

Yellow is her favorite color. I sponged the background with Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise and a smidgen of Berry Sorbet.  I love this technique of camouflaging the die cut. It looks sooo neat.  I am not too happy with the way I added the balloon strings. I should have stamped them.

MIM: Tab Closure Tri-Fold Card

Wow! I've been so busy with Christmas preparations, that I am only now posting my  MIM card today (Sunday) that I actually made last Wednesday.  My cards are all mailed out, but I was one short, so I decided I would try the new technique for a tri-fold card at PTI's MIM.

After looking through all my dies, I decided on one from Vintage Ornaments. After that the card just evolved.

I really liked this technique and will try it again. I do like how the card turned out too. Thanks for taking a peek.

MIM" Stamping Ombre Backgrounds

The MIM video this week on Nicole's website is Stamping Ombre Backgrounds. I decided to make a background for a Christmas cards. I love the way this card turned out. Very CAS.

I used the Linen Impression plate on the ornament to add a bit of texture. The sentiment is from Holiday Wishes. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM: Using Dies to Create a Decorative Edge

I'm a little late to this week's challenge at PTI's MIM. It is really neat. I am so glad I finally found time to make a card for it. Danielle demonstrated how to use dies to make a decorative border.

My border is on the left since I didn't care for any of the balloon arrangements I made using the right side of the card. Following Danielle's lead, I added some color to the sentiment.  I know I will definitely be using this technique again, but will probably not have time before the challenge ends.

Ombre Pine Boughs

Back again to participate in two challenges with this card. Initially, I wasn't going to do either challenge since I am working on making my Christmas cards and I am not a sequin girl. My card stretches Pti's challenge: Rainbow Medallions as I used an ombre color scheme instead of a rainbow. (didn't think rainbow equates Christmas) The second challenge is to use sequins in the Merry Monday Challenge.

I added some texture by making a medallion for my pine cone focal point. I didn't add a sentiment as the pine boughs take up the entire front of the card. What do you think? Should I add a sentiment in the bottom right corner? I might have to move the sequin.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Make It a Very Merry Monday

Just popping in to post a card for two challenges:  Make It Monday: Pop Up Dies and Merry Monday: Green & White.  To learn more about these challenges, click on the links above.
A side shot. The card is mounted on New Leaf while the Christmas tree is backed with Simply Chartreuse.
I used a Cuttlebug folder to create some texture on the tree.

Another MIM Die Pop Up Card

I'm back with another card for this week's MIM challenge: Pop Up Die Cuts.  This time I used the hearts from the Limitless Layer dies.

MIM: Pop Up Die Cuts

I'm on a roll. It's my third week in a row participating in PTI's Make It Monday Challenge. Betsy's video demonstrates how to do partial die cutting to create a pop up die cut. She also added an inlay to her die cut. Her card is so gorgeous! (as always) She recommended using a die with symmetry. That left me with the Damask Snowflake.

I loved this challenge. It was so easy and quick to make this card.
Here's a shot from a different angle to highlight the inlay on my die cut.

Masking with Dies

I'm on a roll. My 2nd week in a row that I am participating in PTI's MIM: Masking With Dies. I didn't want to do flowers so I decided to use balloons. The colors I used were inspired by this photo

which is from the challenge at Curtain Call: Birthday Bash. I have never participated in their challenges before.

My card was super easy to make. I used Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst and Summer Sunrise for my background. The Happy die is from tag sale and the rest of the sentiment is from Graceful Garden. I stamped the dots from Birthday Style in Versamark which created faint water marks on the card which didn't show up in the photo. I really like how this card turned out which isn't usually the case when I enter challenges.
Hopefully, I'll continue my roll participating in these two challenges. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.
