CAS-ual Fridays # 93 : Colorblock Challenge; Casology

It's been awhile since I played along with the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. But this weeks challenge fit perfectly with the card I was working on.

Use blocks of color in your Clean And Simple creations.

I am totally in love with that little bunny from Polka Dot Parade.

I think he is cuter with a little pom pom for a tail, but since I want to mail this card, I used the die propped up.  I wanted to add a sentiment; tried a variety of dies & sentiments, but I preferred the line up of the bunnies. What do you think? Should I have added a sentiment somewhere?

I  am also submitting this to Casology. I don't think I have ever participated in that challenge.

Bunny Bows

When I received my bunny die from Polka dot parade, I knew I would make some type of hair bow with it.
Of course the color is purple! Now Lilly (my 2 yr old granddaughter) loves purple too; just like her big sister.
I used Winter Wisteria grograin ribbon for the bow but with different felt colors for the bunny so my daughter will be able to determine which bow belongs to which child.

I only purchased the Boutique Accessories stamp set.  It was used here. I just cut two parallel slits to attach the bow.
Looking for a different way to package the bows since none of my plastic bags would do, I decided to make the glassine bag a mini purse.

Here I used a different stamp from Boutique Accessories.

Thanks for popping in.

She Said "Yes"

My sister called me last week with some exciting news. Her daughter's boyfriend had just stopped by to ask for her hand in marriage. He was planning on proposing Saturday when he & my neice were in Miami for the weekend. My sister was so excited she had to tell someone.
Here is the card I made for their engagement.

I used my computer to generate their names; then I stamped the image from Love & Marriage above it.
I selectively inked the sentiment. The hearts are from Love Lives Here.

I am so happy for my neice, but more so for my sister. She has been waiting a long time for one of her daughters to marry. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

A Birthday Card for my Sister

My dear sister is celeebrating her birthday at the end of the week. My birthday cards to her usually have flowers. Last year it was Pretty Peonies. This year I decided to use The Sweet Life. I wanted to combine it with my rarely used quatrefoil die, but different from the card I made for my daughter.

I used the Mat Stack #6 to cut out the center of the quatrefoil. I stamped the sentiment from the newly released Stylish Sentiments: Birthday in Aqua Mist ink. Thus, you can vaguely see it in the photo.

The roses were stamped on Sweet Blush card stock with the middle layer of Summer Sunrise and the top layer, Hibiscu Burst. It is sooo pretty.

I used a sentiment from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday  inside; again stamped with Aqua Mist ink.

. I hope my sister doesn't check my blog until she receive the card. However, she still might be surprised because the card looks great in real life vs the photo due to my poor picture taking skills.

Happy Easter Banner

Happy March! Wow, I can't believe how fast 2013 is going. Before you know it, Easter will be here. I decorate my house for most holidays. Today, I put up my little Easter village,  displayed my  Easter bunnies and decorated the outside tree with eggs. If you follow my blog, you know I love to make banners. Yesterday I finnaly finished this banner that I had been working on most of the week.

I used my cutting machine for the egg shapes and letters Here are some close up shots.

It was so nice to have a variety of PTI pattern papers and dies to add some eye candy to the eggs.

Bunny Mania!

I am absolutely in love  with  the little bunny from Polka Dot Parade. As soon as my package arrived I used my die to cut out 10 of him. I had so much fun stamping him with all the different colors of PTI inks.
Since I had been working on an Easter banner, I thought I would make a small garland strand of bunnies.

Here are some close-up shots.

This was such a quick project too.  I just love the little tails. Adhering them with glue dots worked perfectly!

This will be perfect for my gramddaughters to hang in their bedrooms. I guess I need to make another one since I have two granddaughters.

MIM # 105 Glitter Trim

Next month, I am going to be holding a card making session for some teachers I used to work with. I have been asked to focus on babies and weddings.
I've had this idea for a wedding card formulating in my head for a couple of days.  The  MIM video was the impetus I needed to bring the idea to fruition.

I chose to cut the border and flower center with 2" wide Score Tape instead of running the die through my Xyron. It is so much easier to work with glitter using this method. There is a layer of vellum which barely shows up in the picture. I find photgraphing cards with glitter to be a little daunting as the shine creates some glare.
