Cas-ual Friday: In a Word

Here's a very simplistic card I'm submitting for the current challenge at Cas-ual Fridays.

Instead of a resolution, one is to choose a word that describes what one hopes for in the New Year. I'm totally blessed because I am surrounded by my loved ones. I hope the New Year continues to be filled with love.

Sorry for the poor photograph. It's been raining. Winter & rain equals poor quality photos for my blog. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

She Said "Yes"

My sister called me last week with some exciting news. Her daughter's boyfriend had just stopped by to ask for her hand in marriage. He was planning on proposing Saturday when he & my neice were in Miami for the weekend. My sister was so excited she had to tell someone.
Here is the card I made for their engagement.

I used my computer to generate their names; then I stamped the image from Love & Marriage above it.
I selectively inked the sentiment. The hearts are from Love Lives Here.

I am so happy for my neice, but more so for my sister. She has been waiting a long time for one of her daughters to marry. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM # 86 Inside Edition

My participation in this week's MIM #86; The Inside Edition just fell into place. Since I am going to visit family in Arizona on Friday, I needed to make a house warming card for my niece who moved into her first house a couple of months ago.
The base of the card is Canyon Clay. It is perfect since she lives in the area around Sedona where the soil is this color.

Here is an up close shot of the wreath stamped in Kraft and which I fussy cut. The bird is from Canyon Clay felt. The sentiment from Wreath for all Seasons is stamped in Dark Chocolate. The buttons are Kraft.

In keeping with the spirit of the MIM challenge, I used the Celebration die and stamp set for the inside sentiment. Foam dots were used to prop it up a bit.  The house from Love Lives Here is cut using Dark Chocolate felt.
I still need to make a gift card holder to match this.
  Thanks for stopping by.

MIM # 53 Creative Coasters

It's been awhile since I participated in a MIM challenge. Although it's a last minute card, I can't believe how fast it came together. Earlier today I spent hours making a card that I cased. Go figure!

Before I cut the butterfly from the Love Lives Here Die Collection, I brayered the coaster with Versamagic Thatched Straw ink. Each butterfly was sprayed with Deep Plum & Patina Glimmer Mist.
I used LemonTart and Aqua Mist CS to coordinate with the butterflies.

A close up shot of the butterfly made from the coaster. Each butterfly is propped up with dimensionals.

     Thanks for stopping by.
