MIM # 61

Happy Tax Day! Finally finished my taxes this morning. This is the latest I have ever done them. Thank goodness there are 2 additional days this year. I have to make sure I get to the PO tomorrow to mail everything.

It's been awhile since I participated in a Papertrey Ink MIM. Since I had some time, I decided to try and make a flower using a leaf die. I chose the leaves from the Sunflower stamp set. Why anyone would do this is beyond me since there are so many pretty flower dies out there that take 1 pass through a cutting machine vs 7-8.
However since I started the process I wanted to finish. It took several hrs to make this card. Not too happy with it either. In fact in my eyes it is unfinished.

I still need to add a thank you sentiment. But since the deadline for MIM is fast approaching I thought it best to snap a pic and upload it to the MIM link.
An up close shot showing  each leaf stamped with the leaf stamp in Versamark.
Any suggestions for finishing this card? Thanks for stopping by.

This is a sweet card. I especially like how you used the ribbon and the button. I know what you mean about using the leaves as flowers. Great idea in concept, but I LOVE my PTI flower dies, and they are really so easy to use. I just ordered for April, and can now relax for the rest of the evening.

I think your flower turned out beautiful, also love the color! I agree it is much easier to use the flower dies.

Beautiful Carol, what a great idea to use the leaf from the sunflower. Your card has such great colours., love the ribbon--so sweet. My suggestion is to hold on to the card and when an occasion pops up you can personalize accordingly.

Isn't MIM just so fun?? I love seeing these new techniques and *semi-forced* to make a card! It really pushes me out of my comfort zone!

Hi, Carol! i love the colors that you used on your card. Yes, i also feel like this when i make cards, that they are unfinished. I leave them as is and go back to them after having a "breather" :)
