NBUS Challenge: Wedding Card

I was in need of a wedding card for my sister-in-law who remarried last month. She is having a reception this weekend. Looking over my stash, I came across the Framed Love Die that I ordered eons ago but never used. When I saw that the cue word for this week at the CAS-ology Challenge
was NBUS, I decided to play along.

For those who do not know what the acronym NBUS stands for, it means "Never Been Used Schtuff". Every dedicated stamper has NBUS and lots of it.
Here's my card.

I had originally wanted to emboss the flourishes with Bridal embossing powder, but couldn't find mine (as my room is still a mess) so I settled for Judi Kins Iridescent Sparkle.

A Merry Monday Color Challenge

A short post for a card I was able to quickly make for the 100th challenge at Merry Monday. The inspiration

I chose to focus on the untraditional color combination. I had this stamped tree already in my stash. With the diagonal coverplate, this card came together in minutes.

PTI's Timed Challenge

The card I am posting is one made for day 3 of PTI's anniversary challenges. It is PTI's Timer Challenge.
The goal is to gather all the supplies you need in 7 minutes and complete the card in 17 minutes or less. Let me tell you; this is a big challenge for me. I don't think I ever made a card in 17 minutes (okay 24 minutes if you include the time for gathering supplies) I am a 45 + minutes gal! It takes me forever to think of a layout and color combination.
Well, I had been eyeing one of the sketches Nichole had in her first challenge. So I decided I would use that.

Sketch-1

Here are the supplies I gathered in 7 minutes. Wasn't sure if it would be a birthday card or thank you so I gathered a lot of stamp sets for the sentiments.

Here is my completed card. (Sorry about the poor photo quality. It is night here and with the touch of glitter, the glare ruined the photos that were taken at a different angle.

I stamped Fancy Flourishes in Aqua Mist on the card base and applied Prima Glitter on the Fancy Flourished stamped on the panel which I propped up with foam dots. I had 18 seconds to spare, but mind you, while making the card, I didn't clean off my stamps, or cover my ink pads or even pour the glitter back into the vial the way I normally do. This was a fun challenge. Maybe I'll try it again another time.  Thank you for taking a peek.

Celebrating a 9th Anniversary!

Today is my daughter's 9th wedding anniversary. It doesn't seem like she's been married that long. Thoughts of her wedding day continue to make me smile. My  wish is that God continues to bless her marriage.
This is the CAS card I made.
.

The sentiment on the front of the card was computer generated.

The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show. is to use a small stamp on your project. I stamped a small flower several times using  PTI's Mini Bloom Stamp set.

Since I am hand delivering the card, I thought this week's Make It Monday was perfect. The Fancy Flourish is embossed with Bridal Embossing Tinsel.  I pretty much stuck with the design on the card. The Mr. & Mrs.as well as the post mark is from Love & Marriage

Christmas Pointsettias

I've been trying to find some crafting time since we've returned from our mini vacation to Asheville, NC so I could participate in this week's challenge over at Merry Monday. I just love this sketch.

  Here's my interpretation.

The pointsettia is stamped in Autumn Rose and Scarlet Jewel. I used my Copics to color the gems.

I was hoping I would get this card done in time before the Inlinkz closed. Yeah! I made it. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

MIM: Colored Vellum Flowers

I had this design in mind for the challenge this week at Festive Friday

However, after viewing the MIM video: Colored Vellum Flowers, I decided to try this with the holly die from Holly Jolly.

Two things I would do differently with this card:
    1. Edge the Vintage Cream card stock. ( I had intended to and remembered after I attached the panel to the base)
   2.  Prop the holly up with some dimensional tape.

Here's a close up shot of the colored vellum holly.

I used the Linen and canvas IP.
