Merry Monday #275 Pastel Colors

It's the start of a new week. I kept putting off Merry Monday's challenge last week and guess what? Never did participate. So today I made it a priority to  create a Christmas card for the Merry Monday challenge this week.

I am loving the mix & mat dies from PTI. I decided to use my new confetti die. Thought it resembled snow with a stretch of my imagination.  The colors in the inspiration photo are some of my favorites for creating an up beat Christmas card. This card came together pretty quickly. I fussy cut the penguin. (He's from an old Hero Arts Christmas set.. You know the time before dies were popular. lol)

Merry Monday #273 Red & Turquoise

Still having cold, snowy weather which continues to encourage me to work on my Christmas stash for 2018.  The challenge this week at Merry Monday is to create a card using the colors red & turquoise which I happen to think is a very pretty combination.
I pulled out my old Polka Dot tree stamp fro PTI to create this card. the sentiment is from Peaceful Poinsettia. i wanted to accent the top area around the tree with a mini stamp from rustic wreath, but somehow I have misplaced it. Hopefully, I'll locate it before December.

Merry Monday #272 Glasses

Good Afternoon. With the snowy weather we are about to receive later this evening, it seems fit to be making a Christmas card. So I have decided to play along with this week's challenge at Merry Monday.

If this card seems familiar to you my card is a muse of one of Melissa Phillips' card.

Just have to stamp a sentiment inside and I'll have card #6 done for 2018.

Joy to the World

Feb 16, 2016

I'm back in the groove of making Christmas cards for 2016. I decided to incorporate 2 challenges with this card.  The fantastic sketch this week for retrosketches #202 make this card very easy.

The theme this week for Merry Monday is to incorporate berries.  My berries are very tiny. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Retrosketches # 198

Popping in with a Christmas card for two challenges.  My layout is based upon this week's retrosketch # 198.

The challenge theme this week at Merry Monday is hot beverages. The only hot beverage stamp I have is from PTI's Scen-timentals stamp set. I think it was the perfect size for the retrosketch.

Christmas

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Just popping in to post two Christmas cards I made for two different challenges.  Both were quick to put together. The first is for the Merry Monday challenge where the theme this week is plaid.  I am not a plaid girl. At first I thought I would pass on this week's challenge, but then I remembered a had a piece of pattern paper that was plaid. Since it seemed rustic to me I paired it with the Rustic Wreath die.

I am also going to submit this to the ABC Christmas Challenge where the theme is anything goes.

My second card is a CAS card for Muse Challenge # 143.  Here is this week's muse.

I was inspired by the white and the stamped image & sentiment.
I used a bit of Wink of Stella on my card too.

Layered Christmas Card

I love Melissa Phillips' cards. Her designs are awesome. I just love all the layering she uses. This week she is featured in PTI's Make It Monday: Anchoring with Border and Banner Dies. I just wish my cards looked half as good as hers.  This is my take; a Christmas card.

I actually like the way this card turned out. (But I'm not going to divulge how long it actually took to make this card) The white banner was actually cut from white glitter paper; it just didn't show up in the photo. I also used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment in Fresh Snow 4 times and then stamped it with glue so I could glitter the sentiment (from Peaceful Pine cones) to accompany the glittered banner.

I'm also back participating in this week's Merry Monday's challenge which is stars.

From Our Home to Yours

Still on a roll making Christmas cards in between Valentine and birthday cards. I decided to use
sketch # 149 at Retrosketches for this card.

I am also submitting it for this week's challenge at Merry Monday. The theme is houses. I don't own any stamps with houses on them so I decided to use the die from Love Lives Here.  This is the first time I also used that particular sentiment stamp from Holiday Wishes. Never could figure out a good use for it, but I think it goes perfectly with this card. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Merry Monday: Snowflake

I'm so happy to be participating in Merry Monday's snowflake challenge. Last year I was able to make half my cards prior to the holiday season. However, once I started prepping for my granddaughters' birthday parties in July, making my Christmas cards fell to the wayside. Hopefully this year all my cards will be done by October especially since I will be traveling the entire month of November.

This is the insspiration photo for the snowflake challenge.

My card.

Merry Monday: Buttons & Ribbon

Back with another Christmas card for Merry Monday's challenge this week: Ribbon and Buttons. My card turned out completely different than envisioned. I started with vellum die cuts embossed with silver. However, they were washed out when put on card stock and I just didn't know how to save the idea. This is what I ended up with.

I had to add the 3 rhinestones on the ornament on the left since I got a smudge mark on it. All in all this turned out okay.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Ombre Pine Boughs

Back again to participate in two challenges with this card. Initially, I wasn't going to do either challenge since I am working on making my Christmas cards and I am not a sequin girl. My card stretches Pti's challenge: Rainbow Medallions as I used an ombre color scheme instead of a rainbow. (didn't think rainbow equates Christmas) The second challenge is to use sequins in the Merry Monday Challenge.

I added some texture by making a medallion for my pine cone focal point. I didn't add a sentiment as the pine boughs take up the entire front of the card. What do you think? Should I add a sentiment in the bottom right corner? I might have to move the sequin.  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Make It a Very Merry Monday

Just popping in to post a card for two challenges:  Make It Monday: Pop Up Dies and Merry Monday: Green & White.  To learn more about these challenges, click on the links above.
A side shot. The card is mounted on New Leaf while the Christmas tree is backed with Simply Chartreuse.
I used a Cuttlebug folder to create some texture on the tree.

Merry Monday # 116: Green & White

Happy Monday to you. I hope you enjoyed the nice long weekend. There's a new challenge this week for Merry Monday Christmas Challenge: Green & White.  I made a CAS card.

The Holly Jolly stamp is one of my favorite Christmas stamps. I attached a felt die cut near the sentiment. If you look closely at the bottom, you might be able to see a wee bit of the impression from PTI's Linen IP. The anal part of me wants to add some red rhinestones on the holly.

A Wreath Full of Joy

Back once again with another entry for this week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge: White on White. I just love this challenge. Here's my take.

The rustic Wreath was run through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder to add some texture.  I used PTI's Stripes IP for the background. I pressed the joy die cut into my Versamark pad and used Judikins Aegean Silver embossing powder.
Making Christmas cards has paid off. Our humidity has broken and cooler temps have arrived. (at least for the weekend)

Merry Monday # White on White

Soon we will be celebrating the 4th of July, but here I am making Christmas cards in the heat of the summer.
This week the challenge at Merry Monday is to create a card that is white on white.

I made a quick little card using one of my favorite sets: Polka Dot Parade. The sentiment is embossed in Judikins Agean silver to give it a little sparkle.

The tree was embossed with the PTI Herringbone IP to add some texture.

Christmas Vellum Overlay

I have another card for this week's MIM: Vellum Overlays hosted by PTI. The theme of my card is Christmas. It's been forever since I participated in a Christmas Challenge hosted by Festive Friday.
The challenge is based upon this photo.

I focused on the tree with the presents;

I decided to add rhinestones colored with my Copic marker after I finished the card. Since the challenge at Merry Monday is to create a project with sparkle, shimmer and shine, I'll submit this card there too!

A Merry Monday Color Challenge

A short post for a card I was able to quickly make for the 100th challenge at Merry Monday. The inspiration

I chose to focus on the untraditional color combination. I had this stamped tree already in my stash. With the diagonal coverplate, this card came together in minutes.

Oh Christmas Tree Oh.....

Another Christmas card for the challenge at Merry Monday. When I first saw the theme

I didn't think I would play along. The only image that came to mind was pine cones of which I don't have. Then I browsed through my stash of Christmas stamps and realized the tree from PTI's Polka Dot Parade would work nicely.  Thus my card:

I used an ombre effect on the tree. The sentiment is embossed in gold. The ric rac was dyed using Chocolate Brown ink.

Merry Monday # 97

Squeezing in at the last minute a submission to the current challenge at Merry Monday.
The goal is to make a Christmas card using aqua, white & silver.  Here's the inspiration photo.

Here's my take. I just used a touch of silver. The holly leaves were cut using the silver shimmer cardstock from PTI. I used Copics to color the rhinestones and dyed the silk ribbon with Aqua Mist ink.
