Trick or Treat!!!

Happy Halloween. It has been a very cold and wet one here in Cincinnati. Lucky for me I had the opportunity to spend the day with my granddaughters. I have been teasing my 4 year old granddaughter Olivia that I was going to give her a bag of "tricks" for Halloween this year since I am always bringing her treats. She would respond, "Noooooo, Grandma, I want a treat!". This is what I gave them.

A bag of worms; gummies of course! The cut out from the spinner's die makes a great worm!
Bat Poop! Chocolate covered raisins. This was their favorite.
  A Mummy Candy bar.

All of it was put in this Frankenstein bag I made.
Of course, I had to give them a real treat.

A favorite here in Cincinnati: pumpkin cookie from Busken's Bakery

My precious granddaughters. Of course, the Chocolate Queen is already hitting her stash!

Here's hoping your Halloween was full of yummy treats! Thanks for taking a peek.

Cauaul Friday Challenge: Kraft On

I made a birthday tag for my son-in-law's birthday using Kraft card stock so that I could participate in this week's Cas-u-al Friday's Challenge.

I used the two tone wrapping paper for both the scallop and background circle. Here is the tag on the gift.

This is the card I made for him.
Trying to keep it masculine, I used embroidery floss on the banner sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by.

BOO!

Finally managed to make the last of my Halloween cards that needed to be mailed. I wonder if the ones I sent to the East Coast will even get there in time for Halloween. Pray my sister and aunts and uncle stay safe with this monster of a storm.

I used my Wishblade to cut out the letters which are 1 1/2 inches. The first and last letters are propped up with dimensional dots.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Blog Hop : Snow Globe

I loved the challenge this month for Pti's Blog Hop. The theme is to use non-traditional color schemes for a holiday card or tag!  Several color combinations were given. This is the one I chose.

I have been wanting to make a shaker card using the snow globe. I followed the  MIM Video by Heather Nichole.
Here's an up close shot of the snow globe. Seems like my glitter is sticking more to the acetate than shaking around.

 Here's a closer look at the ribbon/sentiment.
Thanks for taking a peek. Now hop on over to another blog.

October Blog Hop

Christmas is only 2 months away! WOW!  But today is PTI's October Blog Hop. The challenge is about breaking out of your comfort zone and trying out some non-traditional color schemes for a holiday card or tag!  There are six non-traditional holiday color schemes to choose from.  For this card I chose

Color-group-3

Here's my card.
The snowflakes are cut from felt. The sentiment is stamped in London Fog (Memento ink). I used my copic to add a touch of color to the sentiment along with my Jelly Roll pen for some sparkle.

Thanks for taking a peek. Enjoy the rest of the Blog Hop

Sweet Life Birthday

Today was another gorgeous day here in Cincinnati; 80 degrees. I just love it! I've been taking advantage of it by walking at the park instead of the elliptical at the gym. The weatherman has promised a couple more days before we have a cool down.
Another birthday card to share. I initially made this card for my daughter's birthday. It is cased from Debbie Olsen's card.

Here's an up close shot of the roses.
My husband liked the simplicity of the card I made for my daughter's birthday so I sent this card to my niece who had a birthday earlier this month.

Halloween Wreath For All Seasons

Seems like I have gotten behind with my Halloween cards. The first weekend of  the month my sisters (from Jersey and Az) visited to celebrate my birthday with me. A few days later I flew out to Az to visit my sister and her family for a couple of days. Then took a side trip to San Diego for 5 days. It's great to be back and crafting once again.
This card is for my mother-in-law. I wanted something with more of a fall theme vs Halloween.

The wreath is stamped in Kraft ink. The berries were stamped in both Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest inks. After I stamped each color, I rotated the stamp 45 degrees and stamped again (without re-inking). I used my copics to color the pumpkin.

Here's a close up of the ribbon treatment.
Seems like this card meets this week's challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays.

Create a Clean And Simple card or tag with an element that goes over the edge.

I want to share a craft my granddaughter made for me with her mommy's help.

They wrapped strips of white material around a spaghetti glass jar. It's a candle!!! She saw it on Pinterest.

He is so adorable. Looks like crafting is continuing with the younger generations. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

MIM # 86 Inside Edition

My participation in this week's MIM #86; The Inside Edition just fell into place. Since I am going to visit family in Arizona on Friday, I needed to make a house warming card for my niece who moved into her first house a couple of months ago.
The base of the card is Canyon Clay. It is perfect since she lives in the area around Sedona where the soil is this color.

Here is an up close shot of the wreath stamped in Kraft and which I fussy cut. The bird is from Canyon Clay felt. The sentiment from Wreath for all Seasons is stamped in Dark Chocolate. The buttons are Kraft.

In keeping with the spirit of the MIM challenge, I used the Celebration die and stamp set for the inside sentiment. Foam dots were used to prop it up a bit.  The house from Love Lives Here is cut using Dark Chocolate felt.
I still need to make a gift card holder to match this.
  Thanks for stopping by.

September Birthday #2 Quatrefoil

I was late jumping on the quatrefoil cover plate band wagon. When I finally caved and bought the die, it took another month or so for me to even use it. (Sound familiar?) This is the card I made for my daughter's birthday last month.

An up-close shot of the roses from The Sweet Life Stamp Set. I used Memento Pixie Dust, PTI's Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy to stamp the roses.

A Two Challenge Birthday Card

Another rarity for me; a card for two challenges. I had to make a birthday card for my daughter's niece, who turned 6 at the end of September. Usually I make a card based upon the theme of the party. Not knowing what it was, I geared it toward this week's MIM #85 and retrosketches #31 challenges.

 My card:

  I used Copics (BV31, BV02, YG23, YG93) to color the party images.

The double banner die was used as the glitter tabs. I used Glitter Ritz (Lilac, Silver and Kiwi Green). sorry for the blurred photo.

Added  the cut out from the Take Three die with the stamped candle image as part of the inside.

I still need a tag to go with the present. (Barbie Clothes)
