PTI blog Hop: February 2014

The 25th of each month is one of my favorite days because I look forward to participating in PTI'S Blog Hop. There are so many beautiful submissions, plus I look forward to seeing/commenting on what fellow crafters are creating. The challenge this month is to create a spring theme project. Here is the photo inspiration.

Here's my card..

I used a lot of old products: Sweet Spring, Christmas Label, picket fence die, woodgrain IP and the newly released Hippity Hop stamp set & die.

I used some flocking on the chick's wing. Here's an upclose shot of the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Happy Hopping. Don't forget to comment on everyone's blog too!

Candy Cane Christmas

Back again with another  MIM challenge. These backgrounds are so quick, easy and mistake proof. Love it! I only used two colors. I think using 3 or more colors really knocks this technique out of the park.

Finally came up with an idea for the Festive Friday Element theme Challenge: Candy Cane

I didn't really have anything with a candy cane theme so I secured a printable image from the internet, formatted it, cut it and stamped it with the Super Stripes stamp set.

On Saturday I went to a stamping convention. I met the sweetest lady who devised a bow making tool. It is so quick & easy. A perfect bow everytime.Usually when I come home from a convention, I unpack my goodies (if my husband isn't home as I don't want him to see how much I bought) and wait several days to possibly use them.  Well, I immediately unpacked the bow maker and made several bows within 5 minutes. If you are looking for a fairly inexpensive bow maker, check out her website
I am also entering this card into her August challenge: Anything goes With a Bow

Happy Easter

The Cue card for this week's Casology Challenge is perfect for me. This is my 2nd submission.

I have been trying to use an many older sets as I can when I create my cards. I just have so much stuff. I am sure you can identify with this. I was successful in combining the bunny from Polka Dot Parade with some stamps from Sweet Spring and Christmas Labels.

Here's a close up shot of the bunny and picket fence.

The Happy Easter is an old red rubber mounted stamp from an unknown source. I actually stamped it last year, but never used it. I guess it does pay off to hold on to some die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just a bunch of Turkeys! Gobble, Gobble!

Just a quick post showcasing one of the Thanksgiving cards I made for my granddaughters. I was brave again and used my sewing machine to stitch the pattern paper to the Dark Chocolate. This was my first attempt stamping on ribbon. As you can see it bled some and became distorted. Luckily my granddaughters can't read yet!

The little critter is made using a scalloped Nestability with parts of the Christmas label die and fillable frame die. I used the berries from the Holly Jolly die for his feet.
I made a 2nd card just changing the body part using different pattern paper. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.!

Easter Wishes

Happy Monday! I didn't get as much card making done as I had planned over the weekend, but I have lots of ideas scribbled on a piece of paper.  Now where did I place that little piece of paper?
Today's card is one using Sweet Spring and Scrambled Eggs. I soooo love these two sets. While creating this card I went out of my comfort zone on two elements . One was stamping a background, and the other was coloring with my Copic markers. I played it safe using only small areas to color.

I knew I wanted to include the little basket  from Sweet Spring in the card. To make it work I decided to fill it with the flowers instead of Easter eggs as I had originally planned.  The flowers are layered as some have double the amount of dimensional squares or none at all.

Here's an up close shot of the sentiment. Love that oval gingham stamp!

I am happy with the way the card turned out. Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a great day even though it's Monday!

Supplies: PTI CS" Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, White
Ink: PTI: Dark Chocolate; Palette: Noir; VersaMagic: Sea Breeze, Thatched Straw

Dies: Christmas Label, Scrambled Eggs, Mega Mat Stack 5

Holly Jolly! From Card to gift Card Holder

Seems like I am on a roll with making gift card holders with the seed packet die. The last two I made continued the theme of the image on the gift card. Today's GCH is for my aunt. I am sending her a gift card to Macy's.  There is no image on this gift card; it's just red. So I  decided to a case a Christmas card done by Maile Belles.

Because the GCH is smaller, I used the medium size holly leaves from Holly Jolly.

The Christmas Label die was a perfect fit. I just love that stamp set. I sponged the edges of the GCH to soften it up.

     Thanks for stopping by.
