My nephew has a birthday coming up early next week. After viewing the MIM "double Backgrounds, I thought I would give this technique a try. It also gave me an opportunity to use one of my newly released stamp sets, "Balloon Bash". I paired it up with BB: Birthday Fun. If the color scheme looks familiar, you might recognize it as one of the Fruits of Summer palettes from the July Blog Hop.
A close up shot.
I really liked how this card turned out. The double background is a cool technique. Hopefully, I'll be using it again. Thank you for stopping by to take a peek.

A CAS Father's Day Card
After about two hours of fiddling around with this paper:
I am embarrassed to say this is the card I ended up with.
I began by using this week's sketch from Retrosketches, but couldn't make it work. After lots of fiddling and faddling, I decided to cut those little fishies out. My husband loves to fish and recently came back from a week long fishing trip.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

On a Roll!
This is my 3rd consecutive week that I have played along with Retrosketches' Challenges. I'm on a roll.
Here is this week's sketch.
Here's a close up of the sentiment. I used the canvas impression plate on the front panel to give the card some texture, but it didn't show up in the photo. Do you think I need to add some red rhinestones to the holly berry on the ribbon?
Here is this week's sketch.

Of course if you follow my blog, you know this will be a Christmas card. In fact I liked the way it came out, that I made a total of 7 cards. Now I only have 37 cards left.
Thanks for taking a peek.

Just a bunch of Turkeys! Gobble, Gobble!
Just a quick post showcasing one of the Thanksgiving cards I made for my granddaughters. I was brave again and used my sewing machine to stitch the pattern paper to the Dark Chocolate. This was my first attempt stamping on ribbon. As you can see it bled some and became distorted. Luckily my granddaughters can't read yet!
The little critter is made using a scalloped Nestability with parts of the Christmas label die and fillable frame die. I used the berries from the Holly Jolly die for his feet.
I made a 2nd card just changing the body part using different pattern paper. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.!

Father's Day
Another quick post. I made this CAS card for my husband. Turned out exactly as I had planned. I love when it happens like that..
Was even able to use the newest Frame It stamp & die.
I hope you were able to have a nice relaxing Father's Day? We had an unexpected but pleasant surprise as my husband's brother and wife dropped by. Thanks for peeking.

Happy Birthday Michael!
My son celebrated his 30th birthday on Sunday. Saturday evening,my husband & I took him and his girlfriend out to dinner. The color combination of the card I made for him was inspired by this card by Heather Nichols.
This was the first card I made using my Zipper Die.
Since he was visiting overnight I quickly snapped a photo of what the card looked like after he pulled the tab. (Sorry for the blurriness)

I did remember to take a picture of the hidden message prior to adhering the top potion of the card.
Of course my son didn't tell me what he wanted for his birthday. He is so hard to buy for. Although I didn't get him a gift card, I used my seed packet die to create a holder for the check I gave him.

The Witch is Out
Every once in awhile I'll sketch out an idea I have in mind. With this card I did exactly that. However, when actually making the card, it didn't turn out the way I had imaged it. I had a small image of a witch flying on her broom with a full moon in the background. Despite being small, it wasn't a good scale for the tag.
It's a simple tag card. The tag is one I made with my Wishblade. I used a Fillable Frame and PTI's black gingham ribbon.
A close up of the tag! As you can see, I sponged some black ink on most of the fillable frame.
It's my understanding that this card meets the criteria for this week's Colour Q Challenge
Thanks for looking. If the sun comes out, I'll be able to take a picture of my last Halloween card.
