Congratulations DS

Saturday, February 27, 2016

My son informed us last week that he made partner at his law firm. My husband and I are so proud of him. I decided to use the color scheme from the challenge this week at Colour Q for his congratulations card.

I used some oldies and goodies from PTI.

Thank- You Anniversary Challenge

Monday, Feb, 15, 2016

Playing along today with two challenges.  The first one is a PTI anniversary challenge where you are suppose to create a Thank you  card for the wonderful warehouse staff and of course mail it.

I decided to use this beautiful palette from ColourQ.  Isn't it beautiful?
I began by coloring one of the sheets from Bold Blossoms released last month.
I cut several "thanks" to give the card some texture.

Masculine Birthday Card for Colour Q Challenge

January 13, 2016
I have quite a few birthdays in January & February. The majority of them are for the males in my family. I always find this the most difficult card to make. However, when I purchased the Make It Market Birthday Pop Up kit last April, I promised myself that this year all the recipients would get some version of this kit. When I saw the colors for this week's challenge at Colour Q I though they would make a perfect masculine card.

I just used a tad of silver on my card embossing the balloons' strings and bow. I should have embossed the little tab too instead of stamping that in black.

I am submitting my card to the challenge at Casology  where the cue word is:

Lifting the tab, the recipient opens the card cover to reveal a special message.

Make It Monday 2015 Al La Carte

Friday, January 8, 2016

Playing along today with Pti's Make it Monday: 2015 A la Carte.  I chose  #215: BRINGING THE INSIDE OUT by Danielle Flanders.Loved this technique and will have to use it more often. Didn't bring as much of the inside out as Danielle did in her card as there is no die for the flowers in the stamp set With All My Heart. I am not a fan of fussy cutting either.

Here's a close up of the Inside coming out.

I do love the way this turned out. I was planning on giving it to my husband, but I think it is too feminine. So I'll send it to my daughter.

I used the color palette from Colour Q Chalange # 323 so I will be submitting it to that challenge as well.

A Christmas Card Replicate

I've been busy taking down my Christmas decorations. It's finally done. Before I discarded the cards I received, I sorted through them to see if there were any I might replicate. I found several.
This is the first one I picked.

 Here is my take.
I am submitting this card to two challenges. ColourQ Challenge 323 has a beautiful palette this week.

In addition I am submitting it to ABC Christmas Challenge where anything goes this week.

Birthday Banners

When I saw the video for this week's MIM: Flagged borders, I knew I would have to make time to join in.   I decided to use the palette from this week's colourQ challenge

I wanted my card to be different from the one Dawn did in the video. I had an idea to hang small banners from the Wonderful Words: birthday.  The rest of the card just evolved from there.

I stamped the presents from BB:Birthday Fun in Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores. Then I  fussy cut the Hawaiian Shore ones and adhered them with foam dots to add some dimension.

I used Glitter Ritz: Kiwi on the Wonderful Word: Birthday.

I am really pleased how this turned out. Thank you for stopping by to take a peek.

First Double Challenge of 2013

I'm on a roll in 2013. I have been able to spend some time each day in my craft room. Since I am going on a cruise later this month, I know I'll be needing some thank you cards for the wait staff and room attendant. So I decided to create this card for two challenges.
The first one is the ColourQ challenge.

I used the palette Deanna  chose.

The 2nd challenge is the Cas-u-al Friday's Thank you card challenge.

Here's my card.

I fussy cut the stamped image after coloring it with my Copics. (Y21, R29, BG15, YG25)  The sentiment was stamped first with VersaMagic Turquoise Gem and then with PTI Simply Chartreuse.

Duo challenge

It's time for another Retrosketches #22 card. At least this week I am submitting my card on time. This is the fantastic sketch being featured this week.

In addition, I am also playing along with ColourQ this week. Submitting a card for more than one challenge rarely happens for me. I think I may have done this one other time. The colors this week are out of my comfort zone. But seems like I have been playing more with different color combinations since SAF.

I pretty much stayed true to the sketch.

An up close shot of the flower. I decided not to color the leaves because I was afraid I would mess them up. Coloring the flower was enough for me this go round. I stamped the image in Berry Sorbet and used Copics R 20 and R 22. The center was stamped in Orange Zest.

I am also going to submit this to Rhonda's Thankful Thursday blog. Thanks for stopping by.

The Witch is Out

Every once in awhile I'll sketch out an idea I have in mind.  With this card I did exactly that.  However, when actually making the card, it didn't turn out the way I had imaged it.  I had a small image of a witch flying on  her broom with a full moon in the background.  Despite being small, it wasn't a good scale for the tag.
It's a simple tag card.  The tag is one I made with my Wishblade.  I used a Fillable Frame and PTI's black gingham ribbon.

A close up of the tag!  As you can see, I sponged some black ink on most of the fillable frame.

It's my understanding that this card meets the criteria for this week's Colour Q Challenge
Thanks for looking.  If the sun comes out, I'll be able to take a picture of my last Halloween card.
