Make-It-Monday #272 Masked Heart Wreaths

It's been awhile since I participated in a challenge. When I saw the beautiful card created by Melissa Phillips for this weeks Make-it-Monday challenge I knew I had to participate. Besides, I need 2 more Valentine cards.

Most of my images came from Garden Gild with some leaf images from Garden Grace. Since I never bought the dies for Big Hugs, I had to settle for stamping the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine's Day 2016

Sunday, Feb 14, 2016

Happy Valentine's Day! Just a quick post of two Valentine cards I made for my granddaughters.  They both love butterflies so when I saw a coloring page of a butterfly made from hearts, I decided to make a card.

Can you tell what their favorite colors are?  Here's the sentiment I generated with my computer. (Sorry for the blurriness as I am still not good taking pictures with my new  phone.)

Since the cue word at Casology this week is:

I am submitting this post.

PTI Anniversary Challenge: Grab & Go

  Monday, Feb. 8, 2016

The PTI anniversary festivities continue. The day 3 challenge is to create a project with supplies you gather in 5 minutes. The catch is to use everything you chose.  I knew I wanted to make another valentine card so I immediately chose white, pink and red card stock. I also picked the dies: Unlimited Layers: Hearts. Looking for a small Valentine sentiment I only chose 1 stamp set: Cupid's arrows.
Having about 3 minutes left, I started fiddling with my supplies and decided I needed more. So I grabbed two more dies: Edgers #4 and Garden Gild. Now I needed some green card stock for my leaves. At the last minute I grabbed some bling.

         This is the result.

This was definitely a challenge for me.  Took 5 minutes to gather the supplies but about 45 minutes to actually make the card. Thanks for stopping by to take  a peek.

Valentine for Retroskect 198 Challenge

Friday, January 22, 2016

I love the sketch for this week's Retrosketch # 198 challenge.

I decided to make another Valentine card.

Freshly Made Sketch # 219: Sending Hugs

January 14, 2016

Just popping in with a Valentine Card inspired by  the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #219.

This one was designed by Cindy Hall.
My card is a tri-fold card. I don't make those too often, but it worked well with this sketch. Still using my pattern paper. This is a record for me.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Retrosketches #196: Valentine Love Bug

I'm on a roll. One of my New Year Resolutions was to keep my blog active since I neglected it in 2015. So far I've been pretty consistent.  In addition, I have been using more of my pattern paper. Using it always poses a challenge for me. Besides, I hate to give it up despite the fact that I have tons.
I'm trying to get a head start on my Valentines along with the many birthdays I have in January & February.

When I saw this adorable sketch for this week's challenge at Retrosketches, I knew I had to play along.

Having a limited amount of Valentine stamps besides endless hearts, I pulled out the love bug from the 2010 Love Tags from PTI. (This is a vault set now)

The hearts are from three different dies: Tiny Tags, Love Lives Here and Notched Heart Banner die.

A Valentine for Muse Challenge # 147

Sunday, January 10, 2016

When I saw this lovely card created by my fellow blogger Joyce M, I decided to check out the challenge that inspired her. It's called the Muse. This week's muse is by Michele Ferguson

Here's my interpretation.

You can see I was inspired by the heart pattern paper, a die cut focal point and the popped up image.

Make It Monday 2015 Al La Carte

Friday, January 8, 2016

Playing along today with Pti's Make it Monday: 2015 A la Carte.  I chose  #215: BRINGING THE INSIDE OUT by Danielle Flanders.Loved this technique and will have to use it more often. Didn't bring as much of the inside out as Danielle did in her card as there is no die for the flowers in the stamp set With All My Heart. I am not a fan of fussy cutting either.

Here's a close up of the Inside coming out.

I do love the way this turned out. I was planning on giving it to my husband, but I think it is too feminine. So I'll send it to my daughter.

I used the color palette from Colour Q Chalange # 323 so I will be submitting it to that challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

PTI January 2015 Blog Hop: Hearts

My favorite time of the month; the 25th. I love participating in PTI's monthly Blog Hop.  The theme
this month is hearts. Of course that means a Valentine for my husband.

January-2015-PTI-Blog-Hop

I was inspired by the picture of the 3-d hearts that were laid out in rows.

Here's a close up of the stamped hearts. I used Ombre Builders and Polka Dot Basic #1.

This is the message inside:

A hundred hearts would be too few
To carry all my love for you.

Another MIM Die Pop Up Card

I'm back with another card for this week's MIM challenge: Pop Up Die Cuts.  This time I used the hearts from the Limitless Layer dies.

  A side shot.

Valentine Goodies

Whew! It's been a whirlwind week with all of the challenges in celebration of PTI's 7th anniversary that I forgot to post the Valentine Goodies I made for my granddaughters. First up, the card.

Love the new stitching dies. Topped the heart off with a real sweet treat.

Saw these arrows on Pinterest. Olivia loves Pixie sticks. Lilly doesn't, but took them anyway.

I used the Banner Builder and Square Print dies.

When I saw these Valentine Hearts inspired byErin Lincoln, I knew I would make them.

Made these for everyone in the family. I stuffed mine with 10 m&m' s. Lilly had hers opened within a minute.
Sorry for the blurry photo.

Be My Valentine

It's been awhile since I participated in a challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays. Needing to make more Valentine cards and having a simple layout in mind, I decided to play along.

I cut my base card to 4"by 5 1/4" so it will fit into the envelope.

I glittered the background heart. It is hard to tell in the picture, but I have two stiched hearts with the top heart curling up slightly. The sentiment is from Cupid's arrow.

PTI January Blog Hop

Just a quick post for Pti's January Blog Hop.  The challenge this month is to create a card using only pink.

January-Blog-Hop
My card was inspired by the pillow. I also wanted to use the new die so I could stitch my hearts together.

An up close shot.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek. Happy blog hopping.

Retrosketch # 97

I have another Valentine card. I used the sketch from challenge # 97 of Retrosketches.

I really love the clean and simple design.

Here's an upclose shot of the heart. I am disappointed in how the embossing came out. I actually did it twice. Both times the embossing was spotty. I even bought new white embossing powder since the one I had was old.

Overall, I am happy with this card. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

PS> It is amazing how sun makes all the difference when taking a photo.  Too bad we don't have more sunny days in winter.

Cas-ual Friday: In a Word

Here's a very simplistic card I'm submitting for the current challenge at Cas-ual Fridays.

Instead of a resolution, one is to choose a word that describes what one hopes for in the New Year. I'm totally blessed because I am surrounded by my loved ones. I hope the New Year continues to be filled with love.

Sorry for the poor photograph. It's been raining. Winter & rain equals poor quality photos for my blog. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Seize The Sketch

This is my first time to participatr in a challenge called Seize the Sketch.  When I saw the sketch, I had no problem figuring out what stamps or dies I would use. I even had the colors pictured in my mind.

 Here's my take.

Isn't that owl just adorable? the hearts on his chest are felt. I had a close up shot of him, but somehow deleted it. Love his googly eyes. Do you think I need to add a sentiment under the owl? Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Be Mine: A Duo Challenge

Just a quick post today for a card I made that qualifies for the challenges being hosted by Retrosketches and PTI's MIM: Multiple Layers Using One Stamp.

This is the fantastic sketch this week at Retrosketches.

This is my 2nd submission for the Retrosketches challenge, but I put a twist on it. I love how it turned out.

The Valentine from With All My Heart was stamped in Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst and  Pure Poppy to create the layers.

Two Valentine cards down, ten more to go. At least I have about three weeks until I need to mail them. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Retro sketches # 96

It's been awhile since I participated in the challenges at Retrosketches. But when I saw the latest sketch I knew I had to play along.

Using the Limitless Layer Valentine and stamp set With All My Heart immediately came to mind.
Here's my take.

I just wish I had placed the XOX on the hibiscus burst instead of between the two colors. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just a quick post of the Valentines I made for my granddaughters. I saw these little Hershey kiss mice in a magazine and thought I would give it a try.

They were pretty quick to make; less than 10 minutes per mouse. Here's a side profile to get a better look on how they were made.
This is the card.  I  punched holes in the Card Base-ic # 1 to resemble cheese the mouse has already nibbled on. I couldn't resist using the new Limitless Layers Heart Dies.
.

The sentiment is computer generated. Of course, the first things the girls wanted to know when I hand delivered their Valentines today was if they could eat the mice. Of course I had other goodies for them too. They are probably so sugared out, getting them to bed tonight will be difficult. But isn't that what being a grandparent is all about?
Hope your Valentine Day was special. Mine surely was.

Design Team Inspiration Take 2

The Design Team Favorites Inspiration. Challenge in honor of PTI's 6th anniversary continues.
This time I was inspired by Danielle Flanders to make 2 cards.. I just loved the card in the top right corner.

Danielle

Since I didn't have the XO border, I chose to use my Sizzix letters.

Here's a close up shot of the 2 hearts I added.

The 2nd card I made was inspired by the middle card on the right. I fiddled with several ideas before I settled on this.

I still have to make my granddaughters' Valentine cards. I have an idea; just need to find time to execute it.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.
