PTI Anniversary challenge: No stamps used
The PTI anniversary challenge for release day #2 is to create a project using no stamps. For me the initial starting point was finding a die sentiment. I chose Birthday Wishes. Since I need a masculine card for a friend's birthday next month, I decided to use Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores & Tropical Teal.
I couldn't believe how fast this card came together. I used the tip Dawn McVey shared about Press & Seal awhile back. Love that tip. For those of you who don't remember, you lay your die cuts on your card. Place a sheet of press & seal over the die cuts, press, then flip it over, apply adhesive and lay it back on the card front. Voila!

Congratulations DS
Saturday, February 27, 2016
My son informed us last week that he made partner at his law firm. My husband and I are so proud of him. I decided to use the color scheme from the challenge this week at Colour Q for his congratulations card.

Happy Birthday DH: 2016
Saturday, January 9, 2016
I can't believe that I already have my husband's birthday card ready and his birthday is almost a week away. Staying home actually lets me get some card making done. Our master bathroom is being gutted and I need to stay close by to make all those remodeling decisions. Since cleaning would be furtile, making cards is the way to spend my time.
Time Out # 47 where the theme is birthday. I didn't include the twist of sponging.

Now for the inside.
The inside is the real deal, don't ya think? Definitely a surprise, not what you were expecting from the simple cover.
I am also submitting this to two other challenges Seize the Birthday(anything goes) andTime Out # 47 where the theme is birthday. I didn't include the twist of sponging.

Layered Christmas Card
I love Melissa Phillips' cards. Her designs are awesome. I just love all the layering she uses. This week she is featured in PTI's Make It Monday: Anchoring with Border and Banner Dies. I just wish my cards looked half as good as hers. This is my take; a Christmas card.
I'm also back participating in this week's Merry Monday's challenge which is stars.
I actually like the way this card turned out. (But I'm not going to divulge how long it actually took to make this card) The white banner was actually cut from white glitter paper; it just didn't show up in the photo. I also used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment in Fresh Snow 4 times and then stamped it with glue so I could glitter the sentiment (from Peaceful Pine cones) to accompany the glittered banner.

Papertrey January Blog Hop Contest
A quick post for my 2nd entry for PTI's January Blog Hop featuring hearts. I used this week's sketch from Retrosketches.

My version:
I just purchased Wink of Stella (clear) and decided to ink up the hearts. Was almost finished when a glob fell right onto the big heart so I had to redo it. I think I need to practice using this new product.

PTI July Blog Hop
My favorite time of the month; the 25th which can only mean it's PTI's Blog Hop unless it's December in which case it is Christmas! The challenge this month is to create a project based upon the inspirational photo below.
My card is CAS. I was actually inspired by the 5th triangle from the left on the banner. I also used the colors from the photo.
The dahlia was stamped with Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy and topped with rhinestones colored with Copic marker BG13.

PTI Anniversary Day 6
Just a quick post of a card I made for today's PTI Anniversary challenge which is make a card using a large word as a focal point.
I wanted a masculine birthday card so that is why I chose these colors. Here's an up close shot of the happy banner.

MIM: Drop Shadow Die Cuts
Betsy Veldman has an awesome PTI video this week showcasing shadow die cuts. I just loved the color combination she used on her card. I too made a birthday card for my brother-in-law who is celebrating a birthday on the 15th of this month. I used two of the same die cuts as Betsy; the happy and banner.
The only die I used pop dots on was the banner. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Be Mine: A Duo Challenge
Just a quick post today for a card I made that qualifies for the challenges being hosted by Retrosketches and PTI's MIM: Multiple Layers Using One Stamp.
This is the fantastic sketch this week at Retrosketches.

This is my 2nd submission for the Retrosketches challenge, but I put a twist on it. I love how it turned out.
The Valentine from With All My Heart was stamped in Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst and Pure Poppy to create the layers.
Two Valentine cards down, ten more to go. At least I have about three weeks until I need to mail them. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.
