PTI Anniversary Challenge: Transform a Former Card

PTI just announced a new feature with their design team. It is called Transformation Tuesday. If I understand it correctly, every Tuesday, a stamp set will be used to create a simple card. Then there will be two more progressive samples showcasing how a card can be transformed adding layers and embellishments.  So with that in mind the challenge today is to transform a card that one previously made.
There is a card I made in 2012 that haunts me to this day. It is hideous. In fact I still have it since I would never send it to anyone. So today I decided to transform that card.
Here is the transformation. I kept the colors the same, added a mix & mat background and tweeked the butterflies.

Make-It-Monday #272 Masked Heart Wreaths

It's been awhile since I participated in a challenge. When I saw the beautiful card created by Melissa Phillips for this weeks Make-it-Monday challenge I knew I had to participate. Besides, I need 2 more Valentine cards.

Most of my images came from Garden Gild with some leaf images from Garden Grace. Since I never bought the dies for Big Hugs, I had to settle for stamping the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday DH: 2016

Saturday, January 9, 2016

I can't believe that I already have my husband's birthday card ready and his birthday is almost a week away. Staying home actually lets me get some card making done. Our master bathroom is being gutted and I need to stay close by to make all those remodeling decisions. Since cleaning would be furtile, making cards is the way to spend my time.

Now for the inside.

The inside is the real deal, don't ya think? Definitely a surprise, not what you were expecting from the simple cover.
I am also submitting this to two other challenges Seize the Birthday(anything goes) and
Time Out # 47 where the theme is birthday. I didn't include the twist of sponging.

MIM: Colorful Card Corners

I am very excited about this week's MIM challenge at PTI. Danielle Flanders created several cards where the focal point is in the corner.  This is a different perspective for me.  Since I need another birthday card for this month, I decided to use balloons as my image.

(little natural light today; snowy)

I combined sentiments from Heart to Heart and Star Prints. I love the way the card turned out. I thought about stamping the circle confetti from Birthday Style, but loved the white space on my card, so I left it as is. I would love to make some more cards using this idea. Hopefully, I'll find some time to do so. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Celebrating DH's Birthday

Today is my husband's birthday. We had our family celebration on Sunday. Tonight we will go out for a bite to eat.  Here's the card I made him.

The Background Builder stamp: Birthday Fun is one of my favorite birthday stamps. It's hard to see, but I fussy cut the presents stamped in Enchanted Evening and propped them up with dimensionals.

Peace

I just love the element theme this week for the challenge at Festive Friday, a two week challenge to motivate one to create Christmas cards throughout the year.

This is my 2nd submission. Not only was it a quick card to make, but also a flat, easy to mail card.

The heart was cut from Glitter card stock I got at Michaels. The sentiment is from Beautiful Blessings: Holiday.

Design Team Inspiration Take 2

The Design Team Favorites Inspiration. Challenge in honor of PTI's 6th anniversary continues.
This time I was inspired by Danielle Flanders to make 2 cards.. I just loved the card in the top right corner.

Danielle

Since I didn't have the XO border, I chose to use my Sizzix letters.

Here's a close up shot of the 2 hearts I added.

The 2nd card I made was inspired by the middle card on the right. I fiddled with several ideas before I settled on this.

I still have to make my granddaughters' Valentine cards. I have an idea; just need to find time to execute it.

Dynamic Duos Challenge: # 34

A quick post today with a card I made for the Dynamic Duos # 34 challenge. Melon Mango & Island Indigo.

I believe this might be the first time I have participated in this particular challenge. This card is for my neice who has a birthday at the end of the month. I wanted to play with my new Party Popper Stamp set too. (Sorry, the photo is so blurry, but I had poor lighting today)

An up close shot. I used Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores for the confetti.

Thanks for taking time to take a peek.

Happy Birthday Olivia!

Today my precious granddaughter, Olivia, turned 4. I was blessed by being able to spend the day with her. Her princess birthday party was last Saturday. You can click here to see the decorations I made for her party.
This is the pocket card I made her.

The finished size of the card is 4.5 by 8.25.

I began with a piece of PTI Pattern Paper; cut and scored as seen below

I then adhered a piece of Royal Velvet on the front of the pocket.

I added the striped pattern paper and stamped image on the Mat Stack 4.

The image is a wood mount rubber stamp by Great Impressions. I dazzled the shoes by using Lilac Glitter Ritz.

The inside sentiment is a compilation of 3 stamps: Great Impressions, Heart to Heart #2,Make a Wish Additions

Here's a close up of the little wand to which I added some ribbon.

Retirement: Enjoy the Ride

I just love the layout this week for the  Retrosketches # 17 challenge.

My card came together so easily too! I used Hawaiian Shore and Aqua Mist.
